Wilbur Clifford Davies, Jr., known to his friends as Billy or Ziggy, died Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 52. Ziggy was born January 6, 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the nine children of Dorothy Gertrude (Simens) and Wilbur C. Davies Sr. For the past 29 years he worked as a draftsman for National Grid in their Waltham office. Billy was a member of Boston Elks Lodge #10; of Celestial Lodge AF & AM of Westwood; and was a shop steward for Union 12003 of Dorchester. He is survived by his wife, Janine (Madden) Davies and his son, Michael A. Davies, both of West Roxbury; his three sisters, Dorothy Mahoney of Dracut, Shirley Davies of Hyde Park, and Marion Griffin of Millis; his four brothers, George Davies of Florida, Ronald Davies of Dedham, Wayne Davies of Walpole, and Philip Davies of Florida; his mother-in-law, Ellie Madden of Westwood; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Madden of Westwood and Jamie Madden of Milford. He was the brother of the late Donald Davies. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 28th from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Boston Bruins Foundation, 141 Portland Street, Boston, MA 02114 would be appreciated.
