Trudy Sue (Kirkpatrick) Thomas, a resident of Norwood for the past eight years, and formerly a longtime resident of Dedham, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland.  She was 65.  Trudy was born February 13, 1948 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, the daughter of Vivan Wallace and Marjorie (Jordan) Kirkpatrick.  She grew up in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1966.  After High School Trudy attended the Briman School of Nursing and worked briefly as a visiting nurse.   A friendly, outgoing person, she made many friends  in her jobs as a Matron at the Dedham Police Station, as a crossing guard, as a lunch lady at the Dedham High School and at the Peterson School in Westwood.  Trudy has worked for the past 25 plus years as a customer service representative for Nstar Gas Company (and its predecessor, Comgas).   She was a member of Contentment Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dedham.  She also enjoyed going to Parson Field in Maine any chance she could get.  Trudy is survived by her son, Donald V. Thomas of Norwood; her daughter, Jill A. Easton of Pasedena, Maryland; her life partner, Thomas Hirl of Norwood; six grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street,  Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday at 11 AM at the United Church in Norwood, 585 Washington Street, Norwood.  After cremation, interment in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham will be private.
