Stephen A. Kovar

Stephen Anthony Kovar, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Monday, December 12, 2022 at his home. He was 73. Stephen was born September 19, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida, a son of Clarence and Margaret Frances (Linehan) Kovar. He attended Wentworth Institute and worked as a shipper/receiver for the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton. He retired earlier this year. Stephen enjoyed caring for his yard and gardening, and frequently helped his neighbors in those same endeavors. He also enjoyed board games and card games, and was an avid train aficionado, collecting both HO and N scale model trains. Stephen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Teresa (Brierly) Kovar. He was the brother of the late Francis Kovar. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 15th from 5 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday, December 16th at 11 am at the funeral home followed by interment in Mount Benedict Cemetery on Corey Street in West Roxbury.
