Sophie E. Kotowski

Sophie Ellen (Kozowyk) Kotowski, a resident of Dedham for 52 years, died Christmas morning, 2014 at her home in Dedham.  She was 86.  Sophie was born February 9, 1928 in South Boston, Massachusetts, the youngest child of Josef and Helena Kozowyk.  After high school she worked for several years as a long distance telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.  After raising her family she worked as a waitress at Artie’s Firesde Restaurant in Dedham.  Sophie was a communicant at St. Anne’s Church in Readville and was a member of the St. Anne’s Solidarity for a few years.  She is survived by her husband, Stefan Feliks Kotowski and her two sons, Stepehn J. Kotowski of Dedham and Leo B. Kotowski of Fredericksburg, Virginia.  She is also survived by three grandchildren.  Sophie was the sister of the late Peter, John, Mary and Anna.  Services and interment in St. Michael Cemetery in Forest Hills will be private.
