Shirley T. Cahill

Shirley Teresa (Fraser) Cahill, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston.  She was 85.  Shirley was born June 11, 1933 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of Simon and Viola (Burton) Fraser.  After High School her family emigrated to the United States, and in 1959 Shirley was Naturalized as a US Citizen.  She enjoyed painting classes at the Council on Aging in Dedham and visiting her family back in Canada.  Shirley was the wife of the late Francis Joseph Cahill who predeceased her in 2008, and is survived by her daughter, Helaine Cahill, of Dedham, and her two sons, Kevin F. Cahill of Dedham, and Francis J. Cahill of West Roxbury.  She was the sister of the late George Fraser, and his wife Carmen, Simon Fraser, and his wife Bernice, Derrick Fraser, Eleanor Shaw, and her husband Jake, Mina MacLellan, and her late husband Lawrence, Marilyn Broderick, and her husband Jimmy, Judy McCready, and her husband Eddie, and Virginia Laffin, and her husband Pat.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Private interment will be with her husband in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
