Ruth . Miller

Ruth Helen (Gleason) Miller, a resident of Westwood for over 50 years, died Tuesday, February 7th, 2012 at the Briarwood Healthcare Center in Briarwood after a long illness.  She was 92.  Ruth was born May 7, 1919 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the three daughters of Ralph and Jean (Connell) Gleason.  She was a graduate of  Hyde Park High School and worked as a receptionist at the Westwood Town Hall for 25 years until her retirement in 1981.  She was a member of the First Parish Church in Westwood where she and her late husband were also members of the Couples Club.  Ruth was the wife of the late Herman Carl Miller to whom she was married for 63 years; and the sister of the late Florence Sommer, and the late Jean Raschke.  She is survived by her two daughters, Constance M. Robbins, and her husband Stuart, of West Roxbury, and Barbara M. Travis, and her husband Michael, of Medfield; her two grandchilden, Samuel E. Robbins, and his wife Andrea, of Hudson, and Emily M. Robbins of Washington, DC; and her great grandson Henry Silva Robbins.  Visiting hours will be held Saturday, February 11th from 2 to 6 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood, MA.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Sunday, February 12th at 1 PM at the First Parish Church, 340 Clapboardtree Street, Westwood, MA 02090.  Donations to the church would be appreciated.  Interment will be private.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Briarwood Healthcare Center in Needham for all their exceptional care and kindness to Ruth.
