Ruth M. Nasman

Ruth May (Swensen) Nasman, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was 70. Ruth was born March 6, 1953 in Revere, Massachusetts, one of the seven children of Walter Ferdinand and Nathalie Louise (Tobey) Swenson. Ruth earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and worked at the Visiting Nurses Association, as a school nurse for the Town of Westwood, at Norwood Hospital, and served as the Director of Adult Day Care at the Deutsches Altenheim in West Roxbury for 15 years. She is survived by her beloved husband, Glenn Douglas Nasman; her two daughters, Rebecca Tibbetts, and her husband Michael, of Fort Meyers, Florida, and Valerie Haueisen, and her husband David, of Columbus, Ohio; her two sons, James Nasman, and his partner Stephen Gine, of Oakland, California, and Daniel Nasman of Medfield; her two brothers, David Swensen and Jonathan Swensen; her two sisters, Margie Swensen and Mary Larson; and her five grandchildren, Caoline and Lydia Tibbetts, and Jonathan, Nathalie, and Anna Haueisen. Ruth was the sister of the late Daniel and Stephen Swensen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Saturday, August 12th at 11:30 am at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 63 Rockwood Road, Norfolk.
