Ruth M. Mullen

Ruth M. Mullen, a long time resident of Norwood passed away at the age of 92.  Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Gibbons) McGlone.  Mrs. Mullen began her career as a Registered Nurse working at the Victoria Haven Nursing Home in Norwood then at Norwood Hospital until her retirement in 1991.  She was married to the late James L. Mullen and together they had 6 children; Robert D. Mullen of Minnesota, Susan Miliani of California, David Mullen of Norton, Peter Mullen of Norwood, Paul Mullen of Southborough and the late Chris Mullen. A devoted grandmother to her 10 grandchildren; Anya, Sean and Andrew Miliani, Amy, Danny, Katie, Jamie, Chris, Brodi and Devon Mullen and her 3 great grandchildren; Madison, Sadie and Samantha.  She is also survived by her sister, Jean Ahern of Sandwich.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10AM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols St. in Norwood.  A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood and interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.  In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, MA Chapter, 101 First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02154.
