Rose M. Ziergiebel

Rose Marie (Connolly) Ziergiebel, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Thursday, August 26th, 2010 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts.  She was 93.  Rose was born December 31, 1916 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of John J. and Margaret (Timilty) Connolly.  After high school she attended business school for a year and then worked briefly as a secretary before marrying Carl Albert Ziergiebel, Jr.  Besides her late husband, she was the mother of the late Carl A. Ziergiebel, III, and the sister of the late Margaret Granlund.  She is survived by her two daughtgers, Dianne M. Arena of Westwood, and Margaret Borax of Upton; her two sons, John J. Ziergiebel of North Attleboro, and James M. Ziergiebel of Westwood; as well as 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Rose was a former volunteer at the Westwood Council on Aging.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, August 31st from 7-9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the Highland Cemetery on Winter Street in Norwood.  Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern Massachusetts, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 would be appreciated.
