Robert W. Devoy

Robert William DeVoy, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home in Westwood after a long illness.  He was 73.  Bob was born June 8, 1943 in South Boston, Massachusetts, the  son of James Malcolm and Ruth Elizabeth (Mackinnon) DeVoy.  He was a Bindery Foreman who had worked at Rapid Service Press and Primary Graphics.  Bob was also an active member, and Past President of the Westwood Lions Club.  He was the brother of the late James, John, David, Ronald, and Margaret DeVoy.  Bob was the husband of Victoria M. (Wilhelm) DeVoy, and the father of Daniel A. DeVoy and Malcolm J. DeVoy, both of Westwood, Liam V. DeVoy, and his wife Petra, of Nurembeg, Germany, and Kathleen Avila, and her husband Jerry, of Milford.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth Smith of South Boston, and Ruth Ann Wisnaskas, and her husband Bill, of Whitman; his daughter-in-law Mimi DeVoy of North Attleboro; his sister-in-law Wendy Wilhelm of Westwood; and his three grandchildren, Siobhan, Devin, and Fionn DeVoy.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, December 27th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob’s funeral Wednesday, December 28th at 10 am at the First Baptist Church, 808 High Street, Westwood followed by interment in Old Westwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Westwood Lions Club, PO Box 432, Westwood, MA 02090 for the Tot Lot would be appreciated.
