Robert Lingarde Shaw, a resident of Dennisport for the past eight years, and formerly of Dedham, died Friday, February 19, 2010 peacefully at his home in Dennisport with his family by his side.  He was 88.  Robert was born April 6, 1921 in Dedham, a son of Thomas Preston and Gertrude (McCaslin) Shaw.  He graduated from Dedham High School and worked for over 50 years in the commercial glass business as a glazier and estimator for Shaw Glass Company and later for himself.  Robert was an avid skier and a member of the National Ski Patrol who enjoyed skiing at Snow Valley in Vermont, and at the Highlands in New Hampshire.  His other pleasures included sailing, walking the beach, and digging for clams on Cape Cod.  Robert was also a member of Constellation Lodge AF & AM of Dedham which is now part of Eliot-Hyde Park Lodge.  Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Dawn Rae (Allen) Shaw; his four daughters, Lee Kivetz of Manhattan, New York, Lisa Ryall of Nashua, New Hampshire, Leslie Deschenes of North Attleboro, and Tracey Lynn Herterich of Medway; his sister, Sarah Hambuchen of Lodi, Ohio; as well as 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  He was the brother of the late Fredric P. Shaw.  Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4-8 PM with a masonic service by Eliot-Hyde Park Lodge at 7 o clock at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday, February 22nd at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.  The Reverend Michael Hodges of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Dedham will officiate.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Dennis Rescue Squad, 883 Main Street, West Dennis, MA 02670 would be appreciated.
