Richard A. Bier

Richard Allen Bier, a resident of Canton, and formerly of Norwood and Westwood, died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton. He was 58. Rick attended the Sheehan School in Westwood and was a graduate of Westwood High School with the Class of 1986. He was a former boy scout in both Westwood and West Roxbury, a member of the German Aide Society of Boston, a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Roxbury, and a current member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Norwood. Richard worked as a bagger at Shaws Supermarket in Medfield and for Lifeworks of Westwood and Norwood. He is survived by his parents, Rev Louis H.G. and Helene A. (Mueller) Bier of Walpole; his two sisters, Karen Baker of Maine and Lisa Bier of Connecticut; his niece, Kelsey Corazzi, and her husband Ryan; his nephew, Kevin Baker; and his cousins, Stephen Mueller, and his wife Paula, Paul Mueller, and his wife Donna, David Mueller, and his wife Amy, and Liz Kane, and her husband John. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2 to 5 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Richard’s family has requested that masks be worn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday, September 26th at 11 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick Street, Norwood followed by interment in New Westwood Cemetery in Westwood. In lieu of flowers donations to Emmanuel Lutheran Church (address above) or to Lifeworks, 789 Clapboardtree Street, Westwood, MA 02090 would be appreciated.
