Stella Barnes Moseley was born in Orange, California in 1927. Rev. George H. Moseley was born in Boston, MA in 1924. She passed away on November 16, 2015 in their home in West Roxbury. He passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015. They married almost 70 years ago in 1946 when he was studying at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. After his ordination to the ministry on June 27, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Fullerton, CA, Rev. and Mrs. Moseley moved to Massachusetts where Rev. Moseley pastored churches and she played the organ in Norwood, West Roxbury, and Seekonk.They were later members of First Baptist Church in Boston and First Baptist Church in Newton and most recently attended Old South Church in Boston. The Moseleys spent summers at their home on Martha’s Vineyard and attended the Vineyard Haven Baptist Church where Stella played the organ. She worked for many years at the Heritage House, a Christian bookstore in Boston. The Moseleys enjoyed the BSO every season as well as the Metropolitan Opera. They focused their lives around their church, family, summer home on Martha’s Vineyard, love of music, travels around the world, and their pet Shelties. They are survived by their niece, Susan Robison of California, and her family. Funeral services will be held in the church he pastored for many years, Stratford Street United Church in West Roxbury on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 12:30 at the Folsom Funeral Home at 87 Milton Street in Dedham. Interment Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 10:00AM in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.
