Philomena A. “Phyllis” (Taglione) Serani, a lifetime resident of Dedham, passed away October 5th at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. She was 88. “Phyl” was born in Dedham on February 9, 1922 to Edward and Rose (Natale) Taglione. She grew up in Dedham, graduating from Dedham High School. Phyl was a member of St. Mary’s Sodality and St Martha’s Guild. She worked for Westinghouse Electric in Hyde Park for 43 years, retiring in 1981. She loved animals and worked many years feeding and spaying abandoned cats with the help of the Neponset Valley Humane Society on the “TNR” program. Phyl was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose Taglione of Dedham. She is the sister of Rose Blackmore of Dedham, the late Mary DiMartino, and the late Edward, Jr. and Joseph Taglione. She was the sister-in-law of the late Christine Serani of Norwood. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Mary Serani, Nancy Terry, David DiMartino, Rose DiMartino, “Jim” Terry, Sarah DiMartino and Donna DiMartino. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday, October 7th at 10:00am from the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham. Interment will follow at Brookdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Neponset Valley Humane Society, P.O.
