Phillip Allen Albert, a resident of Roslindale for 50 years, died Friday, November 27th, 2009 at his home in Roslindale. He was 76. Phillip was born July 9, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Philip J. and Louise M. (MacKay) Albert. He graduated from the old Boston Trade School with the Class of 1951 and served in the National Guard from 1952 to 1976 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Phillip worked as a special needs bus driver for 15 years and for the Stop & Shop store in Dedham for 20 years. He was a retired judge and officer of the Cat Fancier’s Foundation Inc., and a founding father of the Boston Taxi Industry Fund, a fund that helps send taxi drivers children to college. Phillip is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Jean (Cassidy) Albert; his six daughters, Laurie J. Albert of Tucson, Arizona, Bette L. Reilly of Norwood, Patricia A. Anastasia of Hyannis, Penny J. Douphinette of Auburn, Maine, Deborah F. Pantages of Attleboro, and Linda M. Evans of Plainville; his two sons, Phillip A. Albert Jr. of Norwood, and David P. Albert of Jacksonville, Florida; his sister, Elaine Vittorossio of Malden; as well as 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. he was the brother of the late Ronald Albert.
