Pedro A. Munoz

Pedro Antonio Munoz, a longtime resident of Jamaica Plain, died Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Laurel Ridge Skilled Nursing Center in Jamaica Plain after an extended illness. He was 84. Pedro was born November 12, 1939 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the only son of Jesus and Louisa Torres Munoz. After earning his Bachelor degree he worked as a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 40 years. Pedro was a dedicated Christian and served his God as a Lay Pastor. He is survived by his wife, Ana Louisa (Lopez) Munoz; his sons, Pedro Munoz Jr. of California, Jesus Munoz of Florida, and Miguel Angel Munoz; his step-son, Walter Rodriguez; his daughters, Margarita Munoz of Boston, and Anita Munoz of Boston; as well as twelve grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Carmen Torres. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 22nd from 3 to 6 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery, Boston.
