Pearl Marie (Homer) Kiely, a resident of Duxbury since 1994, and formerly a resident of Dedham for 50 years, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at her home in Duxbury. She was 97. Pearl was born February 3, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Aloyius and Marie (Freitag) Homer. She grew up in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School. She was a member of Ladies VFW Auxilliary in Dedham. Pearl was the wife of the late James Francis Kiely, and the sister of the late Alloyous, Robert, Casper, and John Homer, and the late Marie Kelly and the late Rose Colleran. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol A. Dunn, and her husband John, of Mansfield, and Judith F. Kantarowski, and her husband Jim, of Marshfeld; her brother, Joseph Homer of Wayland; two sisters, Barbara Hammel of Stoughton, and Joanne Nelson of Readville; her six grandchildren, Judy (Dunn) and Todd Brennan, John J. and Sharyn Dunn, Jeffrey Dunn, Brian and Tammy Kantarowski, Paul Kantarowski and Shannon Cleary, and Mark Kantarowski; as well as eight great grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, and Ryan Brennan, Connor and Kaylee Dunn, and Parker, Brooke, and Kiely Kantarowski. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 19th from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. In lieu of flowers Pearl’s family requests that you please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice – Mom held children and veterans close to her heart. The family would also like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Cranberry Hospice in Plymouth. Their truly compassionate, professional, and over-the-top care insured that Pearl’s wish to remain at home came true.
