O. Bruce Hadley

Osborne Bruce Hadley, a longtime resident of Norwood, died peacefully on July 11, 2022 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham after a period of declining health. He was 91. Bruce was born October 6, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Osbourne Mader and Sarah Jane (Rae) Hadley, immigrants from Nova Scotia, Canada. He enlisted in the US Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1954. Bruce worked as a Salesman for Rustcraft Greeting card Company. He was a member of the Norwood Elks and in his spare time he was an avid carpenter and woodworker, making many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family and friends. Bruce was the husband of the late Gail Lillian (Somes) Hadley who predeceased him last year., and the brother of the late John Hadley, Peg McCleod, Phyllis Hanson, and Christy Wanagel. He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Bruce Hadley, and his wife Lisa Joye, of Easton, and Pamela Joy Hadley, and her partner Scott, of West Roxbury; his grandchildren, Bruce Robert Hadley of Easton, and Elizabeth Joy hadley of Twin Falls, Idaho; and his sister, Muriel Russo, of Braintree. Private interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Saturday, July 16th at 11 am at the First Baptist Church, 71 Bond Street, Norwood, MA 02026.
