None Stewart Robertson

Stewart Struan Robertson, a Dedham resident since 1935, died Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 at his home in Dedham.  He was 87.  Mr Robertson was born January 11, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only son of Stewart R., and Martha W. (Mayer) Robertson.  He graduated from the Dedham High School Class of 1939 and attended Northeastern University for two years, and Wentworth Instirute for two years.  Stewart served as a Seebee in the US Navy during World War Two.  After the war he worked as a wood pattern maker and model maker for the FW Dixon Company of Woburn for 38 years until his retirement in 1983. He also served as the vice president of the FW Dixon Company for 10 years.  Stewart was a talented woodworker who created handmade furniture, reproductions and limited carvings.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid reader.  He was a member of the Allin Congregation Church in Dedham where he served on the Prudential Committee; a member of Constellation Lodge AF & AM of Dedham where he was a 32nd degree mason and the corresponding secretary of the Lodge’s building committee; and a member of the Dedham Retired Mens Club.  Stewart is survived by his wife, Martha Minetta (Meckel); his two daughters, Carol R., and her husband Alan A. Milld of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Susan J., and her husband Paul F. Butler of Holly Springs, North Carolina; his sister, Priscilla Callerman of Texas; and three grandchildren, John S. Lakian of San Francisco, California, Todd R. Butler of Morristown, New Jersey, and Allison L. Milld of Chicago, Illinois.  He was the brother of the late Jean Sellers.  Private interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at 11 AM at the Allin Congregation Church, 683 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Allin Congregational Church (address above) or to the VNA Care Hospice, 5 Federal Street, Danvers, MA 01923 would be appreciated.
