Samuel Samuelian, a 50 year Dedham resident, died Monday, January 12, 2014 of  heart failure, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was 86.  Sam was born April 29, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, of proud Armenian heritage; one of the two sons of George and Rose (Manooshian) Samuelian.   He studied at Mount Saint Charles and Tilton Academy where he played football and also played the trumpet.  Sam served in the US Army stationed in Europe during the Korean War.  Shortly after, he embarked on a successful career as an artistic hairstylist and small businessman.  He was the owner of Derians Beauty Salon in West Roxbury, Massachusetts for 35 years where he provided caring services at prices his customers could afford.  Sam enjoyed a wonderful relationship with his wife Florence for 45 years.  During his 80’s Sam was a Las Vegas “snowbird” where he enjoyed some of his happiest times.  Sam was a member of the American Legion and a member of Constellation Lodge AF & AM of Dedham, as well as an avid miniature golfer.  He was also a truly caring pet owner and generous supporter of animal causes.  Sam was the husband of the late Florence V. (Derderian) Samuelian and the brother of the late Jack Samuelian.  He is survived by his daughter, Linda N. Samuelian of Boston, and his two sons, Mark G. Samuelian of Miami Beach, Florida, and Bruce S. Samuelian of Dedham.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at th Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday at 10 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 62 Cedar Street, Dedham followed by burial in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, c/o Advancement, 10 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116 would be appreciated.  (Please write “In memory of Sam Samuelian” on the memo line).
