Rose (DiModica) Ayan, a resident of Roslindale since 1929, died Thursday, October 1st, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Dedham.  She was 89.  Rose was born April 14, 1920 in Boston, a daughter of Charles and Emma (Spada) DiModica, immigrants from Italy.  She graduated from Roslindale High School with the Class of 1938.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Hart-Hanks Publishing Company, and was the manager of the Children’s Department of Park-Snows in Roslindale, from where she retired in 1958.  Rose was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Roslindale where she served as the Assistant Financial Secretary for 26 years, a Sunday School Teacher, Cosmos member, Flower Committee Chair, Newsletter contributor and Church Historian.  She is survived by her husband, Albert J. Ayan; two sons, John Albert Ayan, and his wife Elayne, of Longmeadow, and Robert Charles Ayan, and his wife LeeAnna, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; her daughter, Carolyn Marie Moore of South Yarmouth; her brother Frank DiModica of Reddington Beach, Florida; as well as seven grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Zina Powell, the late Natalie DiFrancia, and the late Helen Griffin, and the mother-in-law of the late Harvey Moore.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 6th from 4-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Rose’s Funeral will be Wednesday at 10 AM  at the funeral home followed by burial in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Endowment Fund of Bethany United Methodist Church, 100 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA 02131 would be apreciated.
