Robert “Rob” Everett Cento, of Norwood, passed away on April 14th, 2023, at the age of 66 years old, after a courageous, 15 year battle with brain cancer. Mr. Cento graduated from Walpole High School (1974) and Berklee College of Music magna cum laude (1978) with a major in classical and jazz piano. Later, he was part of a band, “Four’s a Crowd”, that played numerous events at a variety of venues. In the early 1980’s, Robert opened the Robert Cento Piano Studio in Walpole and for 35 years taught classical and jazz piano to hundreds of students. Robert was an impassioned educator and expressed his spirituality through his musical talent. He published essays on teaching, a series of method books for piano teachers, and piano solos for students. Robert was a composer and created a bridal march for his wife, Linda, commemorating their wedding vow, “One More Day Forever”. Robert was a kind and devoted husband to Linda for 25 years. Together, Robert and Linda enjoyed frequent trips to Maine and Cape Cod and shared their home with family and friends for annual Christmas caroling. He was a member of the Mayflower Society through his patriot, Isaac Allerton. Robert is survived by his loving wife Linda M. Cento, his stepdaughters: Diane Simoni and Stephanie Susanin and her husband Roger and grandchildren, Genevieve Elizabeth and Roger Wesley; his brother-in-law George Wesley Hamblen and wife Lisa and nephew Jacob Wesley. Robert bids farewell to his siblings Peter; Daniel and Carmen and nephews Bobby and Benny; John; Carrie and nephew Everett; and godson Matthew F. Berg. Robert shared a loving relationship with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visiting hours Fri 4-6 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Sat at 10 am at the First Congregational Church, 100 Winter St, Norwood followed by interment in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
