None Pauline Ingemi

d. March 26, 2023

Pauline (Lo Verde) Ingemi- of Norwood since 1950, passed away on March 26, with her family by her side. She was 97. Born in Palemo, Sicily, the daughter of Salvatore and Maria (Domenichelli) Lo Verde. Emigrating from Italy in 1942, Pauline lived in New York, and worked as a seamstress. She met and married the late Pasquale P. Ingemi, and they moved to Roslindale, MA. Later, after moving to Norwood, she started her own seamstress business in South Norwood. After she closed the shop, she produced piece work for a company on Tremont St., and she continued to make garments and do alterations from her home. Her family was her greatest pride. All of her grandchildren loved spending time with her, and would occasionally live with her. Pauline’s children lovingly speak of their mother with respect and pride when they tell the story of her coming to a new country as a young girl, learning a new language, starting and managing her own business, and raising her children. Pauline was the beloved mother of Michael J. Ingemi and his wife Irene of Norwood, Peter P. Ingemi of Springhill, FL, Janet O’Connor and her husband Ed of Carver and Paula Stroshine of Wrentham. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Edward C. O’Connor and wife Rachel, Geoffrey O’Connor and wife Carol Baldwin, Julianne O’Connor, James Allen, Angela Allen-Plunket and her husband Robert Plunket, Paul Ingemi, Amanda Ingemi and her spouse Victoria Joseph and 4 great grandchildren; Casey O’Connor, Thomas O’Connor, Rory O’Connor and Vanessa Plunket. Pauline was predeceased by her siblings; Gaspare Lo Verde, Frances Sturniolo and Rose Trigili. A private burial was held in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s name can be made to the Ecumenical Community Food Pantry of Norwood, Inc., 150 Chapel Street, Norwood, MA 02062 or online at https://norwoodpantry.org/
