Naomi (Burroughs) Duncan, 84, of Walpole and formerly of Dedham, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Tippett Home in Needham. She was born February 22, 1927 in Boston and graduated from the Dorchester High School for Girls in 1943. After high school, she worked for several years at the Radiation Lab at MIT. She married the late David A. Duncan in 1948 and they had four children. After raising her children, she worked at the Dedham Housing Authority and Dedham Family Services. Naomi was a devoted wife and mother and cherished spending time with her family and friends. As a long-time Dedham resident, she had been a member of Allin Congregational Church and the Dedham Women’s Club. After moving to Walpole in 2004, she was active in many committees at her new residence, New Pond Village, and, most recently, co-chaired the Library Committee. She enjoyed travel and had a passion for new experiences and adventures with family and friends. She is survived by her four children, David and Mary-Chris Duncan of Bradford NH, Deborah Duncan and Barnett Lipton of Tiburon, CA, Janice and Peter Hale of Henniker, NH, and Jeffrey Duncan of Twin Mountain, NH; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan and Jessica Duncan. Private funeral services will be held under the direction of Folsom Funeral Services, 649 High St., Westwood, MA 02090. Memorial donations may be made to Allin Congregational Church, 683 High St., Dedham, MA 02026 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
