Louisa A. Fairbanks, a resident of Westwood, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston of natural causes. She was 89. Louisa was born October 3, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Katherine Wilhelmina (deMik) and Albert Clarence Eckenbrecht. Louisa was an honor student at Weber College from 1948-1949 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1953 from the University of Utah. She was a former Reference Librarian at the Westwood Public Library, President of the Afternoon Club of Dedham, and a member of the Decorative Arts Trust and Boston Museum of Fine Arts Seminarians for 25 years. Louisa loved art, music, travel and gardening. She is survived by her loving family: her husband, Jonathan Fairbanks; her daughters, Theresa Fairbanks Harris, and her husband Channing, of Connecticut and Hilary Fairbanks Burton and her husband Timothy, of Dedham, Massachusetts; and her granddaughter, Olivia Harris of Connecticut. Louisa bestowed grace and many blessings on all of them for many years. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service for Louisa on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Forsyth Chapel at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Avenue Boston, MA. 02130. Interment to follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
