None Jason Coolen

d. October 21, 2018

Jason Guy Coolen, a resident of Rehoboth, MA for 15 years, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home.  Jay was born on November 28th, 1977 in Boston, MA and was just shy of his 41st birthday.  Jason is the son of Darlene Hassey Morris and Guy Coolen.  Jason, who was close to his family, will be remembered by his life-long mentors – his step-father Scott Morris and his Uncle Dennis Hassey of Attleboro, MA.  He will also be remembered by his sister Leanna Coolen of New Hampshire, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Jay graduated from South Eastern Regional High School in 1995.  He worked for 25 years for the family business.  He took great pride in his work and always strived for perfection in every aspect of his life.  Jay leaves behind many friends who he would be a pillar of support to and would drop what he was doing to lend a hand.  Jay was an expert hugger and a better sass giver.  He was loving, honest and forgiving to a fault.  The one thing to surpass Jay’s love for his family, friends, and of course his fur children, Anika, Chance and Monroe, is the unequivocal love for his wife and best friend, Katherine (Kathee) Coolen.  Kathee and Jay have been married for 18 years.  They have known each other for over 25 years, first as teenage friends and shortly after as partners for life.  Jay’s pickup line to ask her out for the first time was “so do you want to go out with me or what.”  Jay was an avid lover of all things outdoors – camping, swimming, the ocean and so much more.  He could always be found puttering around the yard with Kathee taking care of the koi pond or working at Plava Legguna, their chicken and duck farm.  Kathee wishes above all else that Jason be remembered for his physical and emotional strength, never-ending ability for forgiveness, and absolute love for hot sauce – which went on absolutely everything.  Visiting hours for Jay will be held on Friday November 2, 2018 from 6-8PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jay’s favorite organization, Newfie Fun Days.  For those willing to donate, a check made out to Newfie Fun Days and “In memory of Jason Coolen” written in the memo can be mailed to Mary Lou Graper, P.O. Box 145, Freedom, NH 03836
