Gerald Wilburt Spence, of Boston, MA passed away peacefully Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family, friends and caregivers. Gerald was born and raised in a small community in Westmoreland, Jamaica to the late Beatrice Rose and Leon Spence. Mr. Spence worked as a Lead Technician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for over a decade, one of the leading hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts. His dedication to his work and family was very admirably. Gerald migrated to Canada in the early 70’s where he started his family and fathered four wonderful children. He later settled in Boston, Massachusetts with his beautiful wife Princess Spence where they lived for the remainder of his life. Gerald enjoys cricket, baseball, and football. He also enjoys visiting his birth place and spending time with relatives there. Most of all, he loved being with his family especially his grandchildren. There was never a question of where Gerald would spend his summer. He cherished summers with his six grandchildren travelling to Canada annually to be with them. Gerald Wilburt Spence is survived by his loving wife Princess Spence, his children Todd Grinham-Spence; Morris Spence; Trish Ann Spence; and Candace Prescott, his brothers Robert Spence and Donald Ricketts, his sisters Pearl Spence; Jean Spence; Nora Spence; Stephney Spence; Eileen Spence. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 28th from 6-8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
