Earl Howard “Huck” Nelson, a lifelong resident of Readville, Massachusetts died Friday, October 1st, 2010 at the Milton Hospital in Milton, Massachusetts after a brief illness. He was 79. Earl was born August 18, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Guy and Vinnie (Chapman) Nelson. Huck attended Hyde Park High School and then worked as a rigger for Shaughnessy Crane Service of Boston. He was also a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 25 of Boston. Huck was an avid hunter and looked forward to deer hunting season in Maine each year. He is survived by his wife, Joan Elizabeth (Homer) Nelson; his son, James Nelson of Holbrook; his two daughters, Linda Childs of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Laura Gallagher of Sharon; his brother, Ralph nelson of Arizona; and his sister, Claire Flowers of Wilmington, North Carolina; as well as seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Monday, October 4th from 5 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, Massachusetts.
