Norton, David D., 86, of Norwood, MA, passed away at home on April 16, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Newton, MA, he was the son of the late Dr. Hermon and Doris (Berry) Norton.
Beloved husband for 63 years of his devoted wife and best friend, Beverly (Bain) Norton. He leaves his son David Norton & wife Jackie of Middleboro, his daughter Susan Barner & husband Steven of Westwood, his daughter the late Cheryl Collins & husband Robert of Mansfield, his grandchildren Alex & Ethan Norton, Hayley, Nicholas & Katie Barner and Stephanie Collins. Also survived by his siblings, Abigail Daley & husband John of Arizona, Stephen Norton & wife Natalie of Maine, the late Robert Norton & wife Virginia of Uxbridge, MA, the late Allan Bain & wife Gloria of Medway, MA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from M.I.T. in 1956 and had a wonderful long career at Northrop Corporation. He loved skiing (until age 84!!), spending time with family and working with his hands on the numerous projects he had at home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A celebration of his life is open to all and will be held on Saturday June 2, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the home of his daughter Susan at 990 High Street, Westwood, MA. Casual dress is required!
