She retired a number of years ago from her lifelong career as a nurse after working in a number of skilled nursing facilities around New England. She especially enjoyed her year on Martha’s Vineyard working at Windemere. She always loved the gingerbread cottages in Oak Bluffs and relaxing in a rocking chair on the porch of her favorite hotel. Carolyn was a crafter and would help with school fairs and church bazaars in her younger days. She would often make beautiful gift baskets for coworkers or for charity raffles. She later took up knitting to help with her rheumatoid arthritis. Services and interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in Carolyn’s honor to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Heart Association.
