Alfred Louis “Dee” Dyott, a resident of West Roxbury for 35 years, died Tuesday, December 9th at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston.  He was 78.  Dee was born June 9, 1930 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a son of the late Alfred and Mary (Almeida) Dyott.  He was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and served in the Army Air Force.  He worked as a painter for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 28 years until his retirement in 1992.  Dee was a member of  American Legion Post 18 of Dedham.  He was an avid gardener, a gemologist, and rock collector, and he enjoyed his tropical fish.  He is survived by his wife, Kathryn E. (MacKinnon) Dyott; his sons, Alfred J. Dyott of West Roxbury, and Adam C. Dyott of Hyannis; his daughter, Lisa M. Miller of Littleton, Colorado; his sister, Beverly Miller of Anchorage, Alaska; and his four grandchildren, Abigail, Jake, Brady, and Kristi.  He was the father of the late Andrew Dyott, and the brother of the late Jeannette Scherer and the late Joan Dyott.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday, December 14th from 2-6 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Relatives and friends will gather at the Funeral Home Monday at 9 AM and proceed to St. John’s Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock.  Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury,  In lieu of flowers donations to Rosie’s Place, 889 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118 would be appreciated.
