Nicholas “Nick” Joseph Freitas, of Dedham, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away, with family by his side on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Born on March 17, 1979 in Beverly, Massachusetts, Nick was raised by his mother, Bobbi Stapleton, his father, Manuel “Joe” Freitas, and his bonus mom, Linda Freitas. Nick lived a full life in his 42 years, over 30 of them in Dedham. Nick enjoyed travel, good food and martial arts. He could park a car almost anywhere. Nick’s current role as the Head of Security at Mariel was a highlight for him in a career spanning almost 3 decades in the Boston nightlife. Nick’s passion for people and music blossomed during his years in the industry. He mastered his craft, winning Doorman of the Year awards, and garnered hundreds of treasured friends. Nick was an integral part of the Haymakers for Hope charity program, started by one of his dearest friends. He traveled throughout the country, volunteering his time and utilizing his security skills, contributing to the success of a cause so close to his heart. Nick burst into this world and showed an unimaginable strength from his first days of life until his last breath. His empathy and respect for others shined throughout his life and the relationships he built are a testament to the soul of our beautiful boy. His cutting wit brought smiles and laughter to those who were lucky enough to be part of his life. He protected his loved ones and those in need. Nick loved intensely and his personality is one that cannot be captured in mere words. His devastated family will continue to be lifted by their memories of his life. Nick is survived by his parents, Bobbi and Joe, sister, Tara Smith and her husband Cody, cherished nephew and niece, Felix Joseph and Lily June. He was predeceased recently by his bonus mom, Linda. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 PM on September 17th at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham with a Memorial Service immediately following at 4 PM. Masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations to Haymakers for Hope, 501 Boylston Street, c/o WeWork, Boston, Massachusetts 02116, would be appreciated.
