Natalie Grace (Belyea) Bobbitt, a longtime resident of Dedham, and formerly of Westwood, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at her home in Dedham after a long illness. She was 92. Natalie was born May 3, 1920 in Malden, Massachusetts to Percy H. and Ethel May (Holman) Belyea. She worked for five years in Inventory Control for Jordan Marsh Company in Boston before enlisting the the US Navy during World War Two. Natalie was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1946 with the rank of Storekeeper Disbursing First Class. In 1947 she graduated from the Forsyth Dental School in Boston and began her career as a dental hygenist. Natalie worked for over 20 years for Dr. Wayne Miller in Needham until her retirement in 1983. She was very involved in the girl scouts during her teen years. She enjoyed playing bridge and knitting, but mostly Natalie was known as a good listener, and a kind, warm individual who always put the needs and wants of others before herself. This was probably most evident in her devotion in caring for her handicapped son through his years of prolonged and intensive physical therapy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Westwood during her years residing in that town, and then a member of the Allin Congregational Church in Dedham during her years there. Natalie was the wife of the late Dr. Richard Beverly Bobbitt who died in 2007, and the sister of the late Marjorie Ann Belyea who died as a young child. She is survived by her two sons, R. Bruce Bobbitt of Dedham, and Andrew E. Bobbitt of Norwood; and her two daughters, N. Susanne Bobbitt of Dedham, and Virginia Bobbitt of Portland, Maine. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, December 12th from 5 to 7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by a funeral service in the home at 7 PM. The Reverend Cheryl Kerr of the Allin Congregational Church of Dedham will officiate. Private burial with military honors will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Natalie’s memory to SNARC (South Norfolk County Association of Retarded Citizens), 789 Clapboardtree Street, Westwood, MA 02090 would be appreciated.
