Mildred G. Roemer

Mildred G. Roemer, a long time resident of Dedham, died Wednesday at the Briarwood Health Care facility in Needham. She was 88. Mrs. Roemer was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late John F. & Gladys E. (Smith) McLaughlin. She grew up in West Roxbury and was devoted to her family. She volunteered for many years at the West Roxbury VA Hospital and received many awards for her service & dedication to the veterans at the hospital. She was predeceased by her husband the late James E. Roemer. She is survived by her children Joyce Ranalli, James E. Jr., Kenneth Roemer all of Venice, FL, Barbara Schwartz of Redwood, NY, & David Roemer of Dedham. She is also survived by her brothers & sisters John McLaughlin of VA, Richard McLaughlin of Stoney Point, NY, Robert McLaughlin, Lois Mandelberg both of Arlington, VA and 3 grandchildren. Mother of the late Dorothy A. Roemer & sister of the late Ruth Quinzani. Services are private. In lieu of flowers donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to the West Roxbury VA Hospital, ATTN: Volunteer Services, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, Ma. 02132.
