Michael S. Merritt

Michael Stephen Merritt, a resident of Dedham, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham.  He was 78.  Michael was born January 22, 1942 in Portsmouth, England, one of the two sons of Charles and Elsie (Hancell) Merritt.  He was a Master Pest Technician for Waltham Pest Services for 32 years until his retirement in 2012.  Michael enjoyed dancing, fishing , and was a longtime bowler at the Boston Bowl alleys in Dorchester. Michael is survived by his wife, Janice Catherine (Medwid) Merritt; his son, John M. Merritt and Lori Hynes, of Dedham; his brother David Merritt of Gosport, England; his grandchildren, Travis and Connor Merritt; and his niece, Michelle Holding.  he was the brother-in-law of the late Brenda Merritt.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, December 1st from 10 am till noon at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by a graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston at 12:30 pm.
