Mary Elizabeth (Sanseverino) Rines, a resident of Westwood since 1953, died Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 in Barrington, Rhode Island after a short illness. She was 86. Mary was born August 22, 1926 in Lexington, Massachusetts to Italien immigrant parents Gennaro and Palmina (DeVenezio) Sanseverino. She graduated from Lexington High School and worked briefly until she married John Norman Rines. Mary volunteered at Westwood High School where she helped teach elementary school children reading. She also worked for almost ten years as a waitress at the MacDonald’s on Route One in Westwood. She was an avid walker, and she enjoyed bowling and activities of the Westwood Council on Aging. Her husband predeceased her in 2004. She is survived by her two sons, Steven M. Rines of Medfield, and Scott F. Rines of Long Beach, California; her two daughters, Susan LeBlanc of Denver, Colorado, and Joyce Rines of Barrington, Rhode Island; her five grandchildren, Matthew Rines, Ryan Butler, Andrew and Nathan LeBlanc, and Ian Rines; her two sisters, Constance Del Principe of Waterbury, Connecticut, and Helen Sanseverino of Lexington; and her three brothers, Daniel Sanseverino of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joseph Sanseverino of Florida, and James Sanseverino of California. Visiting hours will be held Friday, July 9th from 5-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Mary’s funeral will be held Saturday, July 10th at 10 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 59 Court Street, Dedham followed by burial in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern Massachusetts, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, Massachusetts, 02472 would be appreciated.
