Marion Louise (Tuohy) Cooke, a resident of Norfolk and formerly of Dedham, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 after a courageous 6 year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Marion L. (Derau) and the late John J. Tuohy. Marion was a graduate of Dedham High School and the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She began her working career as a teenager at Pewter Pot and later at the United States Postal Service. Marion went on to work for 20 years as a Software Engineer for Caldwell Banker, Computer Associates, SSGA, Genuity, and the Department of Health and Human Services. She is survived by her devoted husband of 8 years, Stephen M. Cooke of Norfolk; her mother Marion L. Tuohy of Walpole; her sister Martha, and her husband Dennis Lasley of Winter Park, FL; her favorite niece Elizabeth Lasley, and her nephew Nicholas Lasley. Marion is also survived by her father John, and mother- in- law Patricia Cooke of Norwood; two very special friends, Nicholas and Amelia Diana; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, and childhood friends. She was the daughter of the late John J. Tuohy and sister of the late Elizabeth A. “Liz” Tuohy. Relatives and friends are invited to gather Monday, June 18, 2012, at 8 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St. Dedham. and proceed to St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham for Marion’s Mass of Christian Burial at 9 o clock. Burial will follow at Pondville Cemetery in Norfolk. Visiting hours will be held Sunday 3-7 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Marions memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Boston, MA. 02445.
