Maria A. (Russo) LaMonica, a resident of Dedham, and formerly of Milton for many years, died Friday, January 4, 2013, the day before her 74th birthday, at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. Maria was born January 5th, 1939 in Palermo, Italy, the only daughter of Francesco and Giseppa (Falzonne) Russo.  At the age of seventeen she immigrated to the United States and earned her Associates Degree from a secretarial school.  Maria worked for the Boston Company for ten years and for Grant Thornton CPA’s of Boston for ten years until her retirement in 2004.  She was also a member of the Norwood Chapter of the Sons of Italy.  Maria was the wife of the late Filippo LaMonica and is survived by her two daughters, Josephine A. LaMonica, and her husband Christopher Falvey, of Dedham, and Gabriella C. LaMonica of Newton; her son, Rocco F., and his wife Trista LaMonica of Pepperell; her two brothers, Frank Russo and Philip Russo, both of Dedham; and her six grandchildren, Nichole LaMonica, Olivia Lacey, Isabella Lacey, Liam Lacey, Rocco LaMonica, and Ava LaMonica.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, January 8th, from 4 to 6 PM, followed by her funeral service at 6 o ‘clock at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Family & friends will gather at the church for  a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 O’clock at St. Anne’s Church, 82 West Milton Street, Readville.  Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.   In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472 would be appreciated.
