Margaret W. Lexander

Margaret Whitney Lexander, a resident of Highland Glen in Westwood for the past 14 years, and formerly a resident of Dedham for 55 years, died Sunday, November 20, 12016 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA.  She was 91.  Peggy was born October 7, 1925 in Arlington, Massachusetts, the daughter, of Frank A. Jr. and Margaret (Horne) North.  She worked as a secretary for John Hancock Insurance Company as well as for Dr. Paul Gates and for Dr. Christopher.  Peggy was a member of the Fairbanks Garden Club in Dedham, the Dedham Women’s Club as well as an active member of the Allin Congregational Church, having served as a Deaconess and singing in the choir.  She was the wife of the late George Myron Lexander, who predeceased her in 2011, the mother of the late Richard Lexander, and the sister of the late Louise Griffin.  Peggy is survived by her son, Robert M. Lexander, and his wife Mary Ellen Kelly, of Dedham; her granddaughter, Khara Sylvester; her great grandson Jeffrey Daniel Sylvester; and her “partner in crime” Betty Drake.  Private interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peggy’s Memorial Service Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 am at the Allin Congregational Church, 683 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Allin Church would be appreciated.
