Louis Henri Beigbeder, a local attorney, and former FBI agent, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Plymouth. He was 97. Lou was born March 2, 1914 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the five children of French immigrants Paul and Louise (LaVastie) Beigbeder. He graduated from Boston English High School and earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Juris Doctorate degrees from Northeastern University in Boston. Following an exemplary 21 year career as a special agent in the FBI, Mr. Beigbeder opened his own law practice in Norwood where he practiced until his retirement at the age of 90. For several years Louis also served as a Special Master in the Superior Court in Dedham. He was a longtime member and Moderator of the Islington Community Church in Westwood, and in later years a faithful member of the Longboat Island Chapel in Florida. Mr. Beigbeder was also active in Constellation Lodge, AF & AM of Dedham, Mahded Grotto, the Westwood Rotary Club, and served on numerous boards and committees in both Massachusetts and Florida. Louis was the loving husband of the late Jean E. (Riddell) Beigbeder and the late June (Peterson) Beigbeder. He was the dear father of the late Peter R. Beigbeder and the brother of the late Alfred Beigbeder, the late Edgar Beigbeder, the late Marguerite Guy and the late Marie Hemmann. Lous is survived by two daughters, Mianne Edwards, and her husband John, and Lynnette Lancaster, and her husband Richard; two sons, Stephen Beigbeder, and his wife Christine, and John Beigbeder, and Barbara Leitstein; and his daughter-in-law Beverly (Mrs Peter) Beigbeder. “Poppa” is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Laurie Lohse, Julie Corda, Amy Hartin, Molly Lancaster, Jessica Beigbeder, Paul Beigbeder, Sarah Petty, and Tom Beigbeder; and his seven great grandchildren, Kathrine and Ethan Lohse, Jason and Matthew Corda, Olivia and Isabelle Hartin, and Caleb Beigbeder. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, January 10th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday at 11 AM at the Islington Community Center (the former Islington Community Church), corner of Washington Street (Route 1A) and East Streets, Westwood. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360 would be appreciated.
