Lempi I. Bliss

Lempi Irene (Wave) Bliss, a resident of Dedham, died Wednesday, June 30th, 2010 at her home in Dedham.  She was 93.  Lempi was born April 28, 1917 in Amesbury, Massachusetts, a daughter of Willie and Anna (Pellinen) Wave, immigrants from Finland.  After high school she worked at the Springfield Armory during World War Two, and after the war she worked for almost ten years as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company in Springfield.  Lempi was the wife of the late Walter Gordon Bliss.  She is survived by her son, Gordon D. Bliss of Dedham; her brother, Herbert Wave of East Winthrop, Maine; and her sister, Laila Johnson of North Carolina.  Visiting hours will be held Friday, July 2nd from 7-9 PM, with a prayer service by Father William Kelley of St. Mary’s Church in Dedham at 8:30 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  A graveside service will be held Saturday at Noon at the Vienna Village Cemetery in Vienna, Maine.
