Karin J. Nyborn

Karin J. Nyborn, a resident of Westwood for over 50 years, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Norwood Hospital. She was born on July 21, 1918, in New York City, to Oscar and Alma (Siivonen) Palonen. She worked with her husband, the late Larry J. Nyborn Sr., in the family business and operated a womens dress shop in South Norwood named Karin’s Shop. Mrs. Nyborn was an active member of the Westwood Women’s Club, Westwood Garden Club, and Emmanuel Luthern Church of Norwood. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, of over 50 years,  and spending winters in Lantana, Florida. She was a loving mother to her sons; Larry J. Nyborn Jr and his wife Barbara of Northbridge, MA, Allan Nyborn and his wife Valerie of Lantana. FL and the late Scott Nyborn. She was the beloved grandmother of Jason, Kristin, Justin, Tara, and John, and devoted great grandmother to Aviana, Bianca and Alanah. She is also survived by a niece Connie Waters and a close relative Barbara Child. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service, Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 11 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 28 Berwick Street, Norwood, MA.  Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Karin’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
