Julius J. Iii Stuck

Julius Jacob Stuck III, a resident of Falmouth, and formerly of Norwood, died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester.  He was 96.  Julius was born January 23, 1918 in Dedham, Massachusetts, the son of Julius J. Jr and Anna M. (Heyn) Stuck.  He graduated from Dedham High School and attended Boston University, Bentley College, and Northeastern University Graduate School.  Julius was inducted in to the US Army during World War Two.  After his second tour of duty he was discharged from the Army Reserves in 1953 as a First Lieutenant from the Headquarters Battery, 339th Field Artillery Battalion, 88th Division Artillery, 88th Infantry Division, known as the Blue Devils.  Julius spent his entire life working in the greeting card industry.  He was the President of Greetings Inc of Chicago, the Vice President of Marketing for Rustcraft Greeting Cards, in Dedham, and the Executive Vice President of Marketing for Paramount Inc. in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, from where he retired in 1980.  Julius was a member of Constellation Lodge AM & AM of Dedham (now Celestial Lodge); a member of the Walpole Toastmasters; a past president of the Norwood United Fund; a member of the rotary clubs of Norwood and of Batavia, New York; a member of the Bikeways Commission in Falmouth; an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Dedham where he served as a Chief Elder; and a member of the Church Planting Commission of the New England District, Missouri Synod.  Julius was a railroad enthusiast and was proud to be appointed a WW&F Station Agent in Alna Center (Wiscassett, Maine) from 2002 to 2012.  Julius was the husband of the late Elizabeth Mae (Matthews) Stuck who predeceased him in 2002, and the brother of the late Doris Lucey.  He is survived by his son, Wayne B. Stuck, and his wife Mary, of Londonderry, New Hampshire; his daughter, Bette Mae Poduska of Winchester; his brother, Earl N. Stuck, and his wife Avis, of Englewood, Florida; his sister, Beverly A. Wentzell, and her husband Bill, of Mashpee; as well as 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.  H e was a close friend of Marjorie Giguere.  Private interment with military honors will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham, MA.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675 would be appreciated.
