Joseph William Carbone, a resident of Hyde Park, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.  He was 74.  Joseph was born November 14, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only son of Joseph Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Mazza) Carbone.  After high school he attended the Boston Business School and then worked as a Food selector for the Stop & Shop Company. He served in the National Guard, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of Teamsters Local 829.  He enjoyed playing the lottery, keno, and spending time at Plain Ridge Casino.  Joseph is survived by his wife, Elaine F. (Mahan),  and his two daughters, Julie Anne Helmar, and husband Alan, of Norwood, and Suzanne Marie Carbone of Hyde Park; and his two grandchildren, Alan Joseph and Elizabeth Alayne Helmar. He was the brother of the late Mary Rose (Carbone) Ferzoco.  Visitating hours will be held on Thursday, February 8th from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St., Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home on Friday. beginning at 8:45 AM and proceed to St. Pius X, 101 Wolcott Rd., Milton, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM.  Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Grove St, West Roxbury.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
