Joseph R. Jr. Atkins

Joseph Ridgeley Atkins Jr., a resident of Boston, died Sunday Dec 8, 2013 at the Boston Medical Center.  He was 80. Joseph was born August 28, 1933 in Boston, Massachusets, a son of Joseph R. Atkins Sr and Wilhelmina (Prince) Atkins.  He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952 and then worked as the maintenance supervisor for Camfield Estates in Norwood  Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Dianne (Abramofsky) and dear father of Regina Simpson of GA, Teresa Atkins of Bradford, and Joseph Atkins of Boston, Sharon Steel, Karen Grant, Kimbaley Johnson, and Shirley Atkins-Harvey.  He was the brother of Lewis Atkins of Newton.  Joseph is also survived by 12 grand and 13 great grandchildren.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Weds at 1:30 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale followed by burial with military honors in Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston
