Jonathan V. Taylor

d. July 23, 2023

Jonathan V. Taylor, age 70, possibly one of last of the great curmudgeons, passed away July 23 after a sudden and brief illness. Jonathan’s declining health in the last year did not prevent him from his irascible ways or from being a loving and loyal person to his family and friends, a trait at which he excelled. His opinions were legendary and concise and all those who knew him appreciated his candor and forthrightness in matters great and small. Despite his occasional lapses in political correctness, he supported and encouraged many local organizations and charities.  His many friends in the Boston area, with whom he shared his insights, from the shooting and hunting groups to his Masonic brothers, will have fond memories of his loyalty to them and their organizations.  He worked locally in real estate for over 20 years, and owned and operated Taylor Real Estate in Dedham.  He leaves his wife Marjorie Taylor and two daughters, Rebecca of Atlanta, GA and Holly of Brooklyn, NY, and granddaughters Whitney, Zoe and Lydia, a sister Sarah Harrison of Dedham and brother William of Gloucester.   Not being a particularly religious soul, Jonathan would be pleased that his family has decided any donations in his memory could be directed to: Dedham Civic Pride, P.O. Box 613, Dedham, MA 02027 http://www.dedhamcivicpride.org/ or  Tilton School Annual Fund, 30 School Street, Tilton, NH 03276 https://www.tiltonschool.org/page/support
