John “Jack” Brown

April 30, 1998 – October 2, 2022

John Barry “Jack” Brown died Sunday on October 2, 2022, at his apartment in Norwood, from injuries suffered in a fall.  Jack was the son of Victor Brown and Johanna Moran of Dedham; brother of Molly Brown of Congers, New York and Madeline Brown currently of Melbourne, Australia; brother-in-law of Jacobo Peña and uncle to Adelina Jean Peña.

His life was enriched by the family dogs, past and present, especially Cleo, the black lab who grew up with him and Mollie, who saw him through high school.  A 2017 graduate of Dedham High School, Jack enjoyed model railroading, dogs of all kinds, music (he loved to share the obscure tracks he found!), Rhett and Link, and hanging out with his friends.  Having handled Type I diabetes from the age of 9, Jack could converse with – and often educate – many of the medical personnel he encountered.  As those who knew him can attest, Jack could work a room and carry on a conversation with just about anyone about just about anything.  His passing leaves his family heartbroken, but ever so grateful for the time he was with them.
