John Hugh Crawford Jr., a long time resident of Westwood, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Norwood Hospital. He was 89. John was born December 10, 1924 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, a son of John H. Sr., and Marie Louise (Metzer) Crawford. John served in the US Navy on PT 171 during World War Two. After the war he joined his father in the family business, Clearwater, Inc, a company that relined hot water tanks with concrete. He was still active in the business at the time of his death. John was a member of the North Walpole Fish & Game Club, a member of Celestial Lodge AF & AM of Westwood, and a member of Aleppo Temple Shrine of Wilmington. He was the husband of the late Miriam Louise (Brooks). John is survived by his daughter, Paula M. Nelson of New Port Richey, Florida; his brother Roland P. Crawford of Walpole; his two granddaughters, Linda Marie Vannasse and Cindy Anne Crawford; and his four greatgrandchildren, RebeccaVannasse, Bryan Vannasse, James Thomas Bright, and Amanda Bright. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with his family Friday at 1:00 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. A Masonic Service by Celestial Lodge AF & AM will be held at 1:30 PM followed by burial in New Westwood Cemetery. Donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114 would be appreciated.
