Joan Anderson

Joan Elizabeth (Erickson) Anderson, a lifelong resident of Norwood, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at her home in Norwood .  She was 78.  Joan was born December 19, 1934 in Norwood, Massachusetts, the daughter of Alfred and Margaret (McLeod) Erickson, immigrants from Canada.  Joan graduated from Norwood High School and friom the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.  She worked as a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Akiki and Dr. Patz.  Joan was the wife of the late Arthur A. Anderson and was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.  She is survived by her son, Alan A. Anderson, and his wife Kathleen, of Norwood; her two daughters, Laura J. Anderson of Orleans, and Jana L. Richter, and her husband David, of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Taryn Carpenter, Ashley Sousa, and Jeffrey Stupak; and one great grandchild, Tyler Carpenter.  Services and interment will be private.
