Jean Elizabeth (McCulloch) Blum, the wife of the late Joseph Bonner Blum, Jr., died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. She was 78. Jean was born April 8, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only daughter of William and Margaret (Smith) McCullouch. She worked for 15 years as a laundry woman at the Glover Hospital in Needham until her retirement in 1997. Jean was a homebody who enjoyed baking and cooking, and loved being with her family. Jean is survived by her daughter, Linda J. Blum, and her husband Mike Rains, of Charlotte, North Carolina; her three sons, Joseph B. Blum III of Portland, Oregaon, Kenneth A. Blum, and his wife Barbara, of Milford, Massachusetts, and Stephen A. Blum, and his wife Mellissa, of Portland, Oregon; her two grandchildren, Kerri Madigan and Katherine Rains; and her niece Debbie Martin, and her husband Richard. She also leaves her longtime friends, Dorothy White of Rockland and Lucille Cashin of Eastham. Jean was the sister of the late Arthur and Bill MCulloch. Visiting hours will be held Monday, March 21st from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by her funeral service at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations to the Center for Pulmonary Hypertension, c/o Evans Medical Foundation, Boston Medical Center, 715 Albany Street, Boston, MA 02118 would be appreciated.
